On April 2, 2026, Mr. Leung, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC and President of the AEM, led a delegation including Mr. Raymond Yip, VP of the AEM, and a group of council members to visit the HKPC. The visit aimed to conduct in-depth research on how Hong Kong can empower industrial transformation through "new quality productive forces" and serve national strategic needs through technological innovation.
Accompanied by Hon Sunny TAN, Chairman of HKPC, Mr Emil YU Chen-on, Deputy Chairman of HKPC, Mr Mohamed D. BUTT, Executive Director of HKPC, Mr Leung visited the Future Manufacturing Hall, the Low-altitude Economy Tech Hall, among other facilities, gaining insights into how HKPC leverages forward-looking technologies to drive the intelligent and green transformation of traditional industries, enhance the value of intellectual property, and support the implementation of emerging and future industries.

HKPC also shared its work on Supporting Mainland Enterprises in Going Global through Hong Kong. Mr Leung particularly highlighted that credibility is a core strength of Hong Kong and a vital foundation for enterprises expanding into international markets. He emphasised that when assisting enterprises in overseas business development, due diligence must be exercised – what is brought overseas is not only the enterprise itself, but also Hong Kong's international reputation and brand image.

The visit took place at a key moment, coinciding with the opening year of the “15th Five-Year Plan”. Mr Leung and HKPC management team held in-depth discussions on areas including deepening cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, AI and technological development, helping enterprises go global, and green energy. They discussed how Hong Kong can proactively align with national strategy, serve the country’s broader development objectives, and put forward clear directions. AEM will continue to work with all sectors to harness high-quality innovation and technology, contributing Hong Kong’s strengths to the country’s high-quality development.
